Initially, we did not have a hostel for the physically challenged female students of our school, but with the growing number of such children, we tried to board them in the girls’ hostels we had for the other Divyang girls. However, this became only a temporary solution as new admissions kept pouring in every year, which made us think of building a separate hostel for them.
In 1984, the Smt. Taraben Chandulal Mehta Charitable Trust’s benefactions gave rise to the Smt. Taraben Chandulal Mehta Hostel for the Physically Divyang Girls. Situated on the premises of our Veerkuva campus, this institution offers free boarding, meals, and other facilities. Our boarders learn to do their daily chores and groom themselves through activities. The children we receive hail from various regions of the state, so we have attempted to design and facilitate these lodgings well enough to make them as comfortable as homes.
