History

Before 2012, Shri Kalidasbhai Jethubhai Mehta College of Early Childhood Education had already trailblazed the Pre-PTC (D.E.C.Ed) course in Gujarat. But as the demand for English-medium schools surged, recruiters began looking for candidates trained in English. To meet the demand, Shri Hathi Mehta Dharmshala Trust assisted Vidyamandir in building Shri Hathibhai Vhalubhai Mehta College of Early Childhood Education, which became the first English-medium pre-primary education college in North Gujarat.

Our two-year course design includes child psychology, the principles and methods of preschool education, child nutrition, language development, problem-solving skills, mathematics, environmental science, home science, beautification, and arts and crafts through internships, workshops, seminars, and tours. Our trainees also learn to create stories, rhymes, plays, games, various teaching-learning materials, handicrafts, and puppets for effective teaching.

Social service and awareness programmes are significant parts of our curriculum. Every year, we organise seminars on schemes for working women, widows, entrepreneurs, and students, in which all our trainees participate. Participation in such projects teaches them the difference educators can make in our society. We believe that our trainees should never confine themselves to their classrooms when they have the power to go way beyond. We provide 100% placement assistance to all our students. We gained recognition from NCTE, Bhopal, in 2015.

Admission

The minimum academic qualification for admissions is Senior Secondary (HSC), with 50% for the general category and a 5% relaxation for others. Students can also avail of our hostel facility.
