This year, Community Service has been introduced at Smt. M. M. Mehta English Medium School as a Pilot Project. The aim is to develop a sense of selfless service and empathy in the students for the underprivileged as well as the society in general. As part of that initiative, students voluntarily collected their extra toys and decided to share them with the primary school students of a small interior village, Karamdi, situated in the forest range near Virampur. The EMS School President along with some other members of the school committee themselves went to Karamdi Primary School on Tuesday, 17th September 2019, and gifted these toys along with football and cricket kits gifted by some Vidyamandir Alumni to the children. The EMS students also shared snacks that they had brought along with the kids and played football with them. The interaction with the Karamdi school students was a learning experience for the EMS students, seeing such a small school in the interior forest area and the hardships these kids face in getting such a basic need as education which children from urban background take for granted.
