Mahatma Gandhi National Council for Rural Education (MGCNRE) is a foundation under MHRD working towards the development needs and challenges through participatory mechanisms and appropriate technological responses based on local resources. MGNCRE invited COVID volunteers from D.D.CHOKSI COLLEGE OF SECONDARY EDUCATION & Smt.S.P.KOTHARI COLLEGE OF SECONDARY EDUCATION to participate in the psychosocial support skills required to handle the stress, anxiety, grievance among people emerging due to the pandemic. They provided several areas in which the volunteers could work. It was a 20 days program in which our colleges took up Hospital management and family related support as a part of the work areas and the student teachers developed strategies to reach to maximum people to create vaccination awareness and counseling. The student teachers prepared daily logs and maintained a journal of their work.
Presentation was given by the student teachers for the efforts they made in front of the MGNCRE coordinator Mrs.Padma. All the students will be felicitated with certificates by MGNCRE for the generous contribution towards thedevelopment of synergic convergence of human resources which are socially and economically just and inclusive for the vulnerable sections of rural India.
