Learning the correct sounds of the English alphabet greatly affects our pronunciation and fluency. As educators, we constantly work on our methods to perfect our students' speech. One such attempt of ours was a training programme we had on phonics on 2nd July 2022 for our teachers of grades 1 & 2, Eng. med.
The experts, Mrs. Pooja Khubchandani and Miss Asha Karnawat, were picked from the staff by the Principal to promote self-learning and knowledge sharing among the colleagues. They explained how to pronounce and teach each sound of the English language.They also spoke on sound blends and digraphs, which was followed by a spelling test for the teachers based on the content of the programme.The seminar proved to be extremely advantageous to the teachers. It gave them more methods and ideas to introduce this in class.
