In the third week of March, the Institute of English held a number of competitions for its Gujarati and English-medium middle school students. For grades 6, 7, and 8, there were karaoke, impromptu, and debate competitions, respectively.
The sixth graders were asked to suggest their favourite English songs for the first round, and for round two, the finalists had to try singing an unfamiliar number. During impromptu, the children prepared and delivered a speech on a surprise topic they had fished out of a bowl. Meanwhile, the standard eight students shared their thoughts on 'Is crying a sign of weakness?' and 'Do good parents beat their children?'
The event was held to encourage the students to understand their flair, and it also let the trainer evaluate their progress. Their cultivated confidence could be seen in their tremendous performances.
