Shri Pitamberbhai Mehta, the ex-minister of Palanpur and the head of the Sthanakvasi community, was an embodiment of charity and kindness. The founding father of Vidyamandir, Shri Surajbhai Lallubhai Mehta, worked towards building a sports and exercise academy for the people of the city in his loving memory. Even today, it remains the only hub of sports in the city.

The administration of the centre was officially handed over to our Trust in 1959, after which it was renovated and equipped to accommodate a good number of games.
