Cleanliness Awareness Programme in B.Ed College

The NSS unit of D D Choksi College of Secondary Education and students of Smt. S P Kothari English Medium B.Ed College conducted a Cleanliness Awareness program on 9th July 2018 under the guidance of Principal, Dr.N.G.Ghosh at Vidyamandir premises. Ms.Arpana Tripathi (NSS Programme Officer) divided the NSS volunteers into four groups. Each group members were allocated with different schools of Vidyamandir Trust for cleaning and spreading awareness.

First group of NSS volunteers performed a play on ‘Clean India’ to highlight the importance of hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness in Babuben Parikh Hall for students of I.J Mehta Vinaymandir managed by Vidyamandir Trust. A speech on awareness for cleanliness was delivered by Bhoomika Prajapati NSS -student teacher of D D Choksi College.

Second Group enacted a play on “Cleanliness Brings Godliness” to highlight the importance of hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness in Babuben Parikh Hall for students of Smt. M.M.Mehta English Medium School managed by Vidyamandir Trust. A speech for cleanliness awareness was delivered by Jigisha Solanki.

Third group, enacted a street play called 'Kachro Ke Khiladi' to educate and sensitize the students about the importance of cleanliness for a healthy and prosperous life, in Amphi Theatre of Smt. M.M.Mehta English Medium School managed by Vidyamandir Trust. Speech was delivered by Student teacher Ms.Mittal Koitiya.

Fourth group of the students conducted a street play called ‘Mera Bharat Swachh Bharat’ to educate and to keep our surroundings neat and clean. A speech was delivered by Student teacher Ms.Uma Parmar.

The students and staff members took out an awareness rally to spread the message of the need to educate and sensitize the students about the importance of cleanliness for a healthy, socially responsible, economically dynamic and progressive nation. 

During the rally, they also interacted with many students of the premises and urged them to take up the cause seriously so that our country can stand tall among nations known for their clean and hygienic environment. 

After the rally, the students went on a cleanliness drive of the surrounding park and managed to clean it up. The whole exercise was appreciated by our honorable Director- Shri Hasmukh Modi, who urged the students to carry on with such socially uplifting causes. The whole drive was quite inspiring and motivating for the staff and students. The students realized that any work is best done when it is carried out by a person himself. It also made the students aware of the dignity of labor. At the end the NSS volunteers were provided snacks. The meticulous efforts of all the staff members and students made the event a grand success.
